A couple of years ago, Symphony on the Green was kicked up a notch or two and became an outdoor summer afternoon festival. (Early June is not actually summer, but anytime after Memorial Day qualifies in my book.) Now called Festival on the Green, this popular event has something for everyone!

Come enjoy the many activities the festival has to offer!

Kids can touch and play real musical instruments at
the instrument petting zoo.

Make your own drum and tambourine with the
Children's Museum!

Come build something at Minnetrista's arts and crafts table.

View and buy art work of local artisans.

Are you an artist? Reserve your own free artisan table for Festival on the Green. Just email Bob Hartley.

View the Antique Car display!

Superconductor Contest!
Vote for your favorite conductor at the festival and help raise money for the Muncie Symphony Orchestra. The winning conductor will get to conduct the symphony at the festival!
Click here to cast your vote/donation for your favorite Superconductor online.
$1 = 1 vote so every dollar counts!

The winning conductor will get to conduct the symphony at the festival.

The stage opens at 5:00pm for short vignettes featuring dancing, music,
and drama by Muncie arts organizations.
Muncie Symphony Orchestra Concert
The Muncie Symphony Orchestra will take the stage at 7:00 p.m with Camille Saint-Saens' The Carnival of the Animals. The Carnival of the Animals was a huge hit with the young audience last month and is listening fun for everyone. (Look here to read the poems and hear the music.) This is everyone's chance to see animals, listen to poetry and hear music inspired by each animal.  Here is a sneak peak of the Young Peoples Concert.

Looks like so much fun! What fantastic ideas to get kids involved. Instrument petting zoo - love it! Wish I was local.

I wish you lived nearby, too! MSO has pretty stiff competition with the White House Egg Roll, but they didn't have orchestral music. :-)

Our boys love this event! Each year we look forward to taking a picnic and enjoying an evening outside with wonderful music.
